Daehyun presented a full paper entitled "Investigating the Potential of Group Recommendation Systems as a Medium of Social Interactions: A Case of Spotify Blend Experiences between Two Users" at the CHI 2024 conference. This work conducted various qualitative studies, including survey, diary study, and interview, to investigate users' social experiences mediated by group recommendation systems (GRS), adopting Spotify's Blend as a research context. The empirical studies revealed that, while using Blend, users engaged in a tacit understanding of their companions and indirect communications. Based on the findings, this work discussed the newly discovered value of GRS as a social catalyst and suggested key attributes and challenges for designing GRS-mediated social experiences.
