Giovanni Maria Troiano comes from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) as a visiting student to collaborate with Prof.Youn-kyung Lim at the Industrial Design Department. Giovanni is currently a PhD candidate as part of a european founded project called GHOST (http://ghostfet-prod.cs.bris.ac.uk/), which investigates deformable, organic, and shape-changing interfaces. His work at KAIST in collaboration with Prof.Youn-kyung Lim is a study of shape-changing interfaces that uses science fiction (Sci-Fi) movies as the main source of information. By looking at Sci-Fi movies Prof.Youn and him will generate meaningful categories and taxonomy for shape-changing interfaces. The purpose of their work is to provide designers of shape-changing interfaces with categories and key design elements that can help them in the design process of those particular interfaces.
